Climate & Weather

September in Vilnius generally offers mild and pleasant weather conditions, making it an excellent period for outdoor sports and Disc Golf competition.

Average daytime temperatures typically range between 16–20°C (60–68°F), while mornings and evenings can feel noticeably cooler. Rain is possible throughout the week, although it is usually light and short-lasting. Wind conditions are generally moderate.

Players can expect comfortable playing conditions during most of the day, with approximately 6–7 hours of sunshine on average. Early mornings may occasionally include dew or light fog, particularly in park and forest areas around the courses.

Overall, September in Lithuania is considered one of the most pleasant periods of the year for outdoor activities and exploring Vilnius after rounds.

Recommended Clothing & Footwear

Teams and players are encouraged to prepare for a variety of outdoor conditions during the championship week.

Recommended items include:

  • Light rain jacket or waterproof layer
  • Layered sports clothing for cooler mornings and evenings
  • Comfortable walking shoes or hiking-style footwear
  • Extra socks and towels in case of wet conditions
  • Umbrella or compact rain protection
  • Sun protection (cap, sunglasses, sunscreen)

The courses are located within forest and park terrain, with some natural surfaces, elevation changes and potentially damp areas during mornings or after rain. Waterproof or water-resistant footwear is strongly recommended.

Currency & Payments

The official currency in Lithuania is the Euro (EUR).

Most hotels, restaurants, shops, taxis and public services accept major debit and credit cards, including Visa and Mastercard. Contactless card payments and mobile payment services are widely used throughout Vilnius.

Cash is generally not required for most daily purchases, although carrying a small amount of EUR cash may still be useful for smaller shops, local markets or unexpected situations.

ATMs are widely available throughout Vilnius city centre, at the airport, shopping centres and near most accommodation areas.

Electricity & Connectivity

Lithuania uses standard European electrical outlets:

  • Voltage: 230V
  • Frequency: 50Hz
  • Plug types: Type C and Type F

Teams travelling from outside continental Europe may require a travel adapter.

Free Wi-Fi is widely available in hotels, restaurants, cafés, shopping centres and many public areas throughout Vilnius.

Mobile network coverage in Vilnius and surrounding areas is generally excellent.

Time Zone

Lithuania operates on Eastern European Summer Time (EEST) during September.

  • UTC +3

Teams are encouraged to consider the time difference when planning flights, arrival times and communication with home countries.

Mobile Internet & Roaming

Lithuania is part of the European Union roaming zone. Participants travelling from EU and EEA countries can generally use their mobile plans in Lithuania under the same roaming conditions as in their home country, depending on their operator’s fair use policy.

For visitors arriving from outside the EU/EEA, international roaming charges may apply. Teams are encouraged to check roaming conditions and data prices with their mobile provider before travelling.

Prepaid SIM cards and tourist data packages are widely available in Lithuania and can be purchased at the airport, shopping centres, supermarkets, mobile operator stores, and convenience shops.

The main mobile operators in Lithuania are:

  • Telia
  • Tele2
  • Bitė

Most prepaid SIM cards include mobile data packages and can usually be activated immediately. Prices are generally affordable compared to many other European countries.

Visitors from outside the EU who expect higher mobile data usage may find local prepaid SIM cards or eSIM plans more economical than international roaming.

eSIM services are also available through various international providers for compatible devices.

Free Wi-Fi is widely available in hotels, restaurants, cafés, shopping centres and many public areas throughout Vilnius.

Mobile network coverage in Vilnius and surrounding areas is generally excellent, including around the competition venues.
