Anti-Doping

All participants at WTDGC 2026 must comply with the provisions of the WFDF Anti-Doping Rules (as amended from time to time), the World Anti-Doping Code (the “Code”), and the International Standards issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), as published on WADA’s website.

WTDGC will require every player to sign the Anti-Doping Acknowledgement Agreement and to hold a current ADEL online Anti-Doping Education certificate.

WFDF is a signatory to the WADA Anti-Doping Code and therefore all WFDF events are subject to anti-doping testing either during or out of competition. Athletes must acknowledge the authority of WFDF and its member National Federations and/or National Anti-Doping Organisations under the WFDF Anti-Doping Rules to enforce testing, manage results, and impose sanctions in accordance with the WFDF regulations.

All players must review the information on anti-doping procedures and the WADA Prohibited Substances and Methods List, which can be found online at: wfdf.sport/anti-doping

Any form of doping, as defined by the WADA Code, is strictly prohibited.

Anti-Doping Information

“Every athlete has the right to clean sport.”

A clean sport is one where athletes compete fairly, honestly and within the established rules. Spirit of the Game in Flying Disc sports encompasses these values and requires athletes to avoid intentionally breaking rules, acting dangerously, displaying unsportsmanlike behaviour, or engaging in any “win at all costs” conduct, including doping.

These Championships are considered an International Event under the World Anti-Doping Code and the WFDF Anti-Doping Rules. Athletes participating in WTDGC 2026 are considered International-Level Athletes and are therefore subject to anti-doping testing, Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) requirements where applicable, and other provisions of the WFDF Anti-Doping Rules.

All athletes are strongly encouraged to review the WFDF Anti-Doping Rules and related resources before attending the event. The full rules and additional information are available at: wfdf.sport/anti-doping

Athletes should carefully check all medications and supplements before use to ensure they do not contain substances or methods included on the current WADA Prohibited List.

Please note that:

  • Some over-the-counter medications, including certain cold, flu and cough medicines, may contain prohibited substances.
  • Many recreational drugs contain substances prohibited in sport and may result in an Anti-Doping Rule Violation.
  • Dietary supplements may contain prohibited substances due to contamination or inaccurate labelling.

Athletes with medical conditions requiring the use of prohibited substances or methods (for example ADHD, asthma, diabetes or similar conditions) must obtain a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) before competing, unless one of the conditions for a retroactive TUE applies.

TUE applications should be submitted to WFDF at least 30 days before the Championships and must include all required supporting medical documentation.

Any concerns regarding doping or anti-doping violations may be reported to WFDF Integrity Officers.

Athletes and Athlete Support Personnel are encouraged to familiarise themselves with:

  • WFDF Anti-Doping Rules
  • WADA Prohibited List (current year)
  • WFDF Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) process
  • World Anti-Doping Code and International Standards
  • Athletes’ rights and responsibilities
  • Risks and consequences of doping

Anti-Doping Education

WFDF is committed to clean sport and anti-doping education. As International-Level participants, certain categories of participants are required to complete mandatory anti-doping education through the WADA ADEL platform.

The following education programmes are required:

Proof of completion may be requested as part of the event registration and accreditation process.

WADA Certificates are valid for a period of 2 years so team members who have already completed education for WTDGC 2024 or other event after September 12, 2024 do not have to undertake the same education again.

Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUE)

Athletes who require medication containing a prohibited substance, or who require a prohibited method for medical reasons, must apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE).

Applications must include:

  • A completed TUE application form
  • Comprehensive medical history and supporting documentation
  • Relevant examination, laboratory and imaging results
  • Documentation from the diagnosing physician(s)

TUE applications should be submitted to WFDF no later than 30 days before the Championships unless one of the provisions for a retroactive TUE applies.
