Uniform Requirements

All Players and caddies actively involved in matches are required to wear their official national team uniform.

This section clarifies existing requirements and introduces additional mandatory elements aimed at improving on-course communication, officiating and media presentation.

Anyone not wearing an official team uniform (regardless of registration status) will generally be treated as a spectator.

  1. GENERAL UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS

The minimum competition uniform must include:

Upper garment (shirt, blouse, jacket or equivalent):

  • With sleeves (short or long)
  • With a collar
  • Clean, undamaged and presentable to the public and media
  • Clearly identifying the country being represented

Lower garment:

  • Shorts, skirt or trousers

Footwear:

  • Shoes or other appropriate footwear
  • Barefoot play is not permitted
  1. COLLAR CLARIFICATION

A collar is required; however, a traditional polo-style collar is not the only acceptable option.

In practice, polo collars are often worn with one or more buttons undone, which is common during play and normal for player comfort. Combined with movement and repeated use of Disc Golf bags, collars may sit unevenly and appear less tidy during competition.

For this reason, teams are encouraged to consider alternative sport-specific collar constructions provided they:

  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance throughout play
  • Are part of a commercially produced sports garment

This clarification is intended to maintain a professional visual standard while avoiding interpretation of the term collar as exclusively meaning a polo-style shirt.

  1. MANDATORY PLAYER IDENTIFICATION ELEMENTS

To improve communication, officiating and match management, the following elements are mandatory for WTDGC 2026.

Player Number (right shoulder)

Each Player and NPTM must display a two-digit identification number.

Requirements:

  • Number format: 01–99
  • Numbers from 1–9 must include a leading zero (01, 02, 03 etc.)
  • Placement: right shoulder
  • The same number must be used consistently throughout the entire event

Players and NPTM register for competition using their assigned number.

NPTM are considered an active part of the team and therefore follow the same identification, registration and accreditation principles as players.

Recommended size:

  • Height: 65–70 mm
  • Width: proportional to selected font

Teams may use their own typography provided readability is maintained.

Identification Panel (left shoulder)

The left shoulder area must include:

  • WTDGC 2026 event logo
    • Height: 45–50 mm
  • IOC country code (3-letter code published by WFDF)
    • Letter height: 15–20 mm
  • National flag
    • Height: 15–20 mm
    • Width proportional to official flag format
  • WFDF logo
    • Height: 8–10 mm
  • PDGA logo
    • Height: 8–10 mm

For smaller shirt sizes, elements may be proportionally reduced provided readability is maintained.

  1. NATIONAL DESIGN ELEMENTS

The shirt or top must prominently display the country name using either:

  • Official national naming convention, or
  • Commonly accepted national naming

Examples:

  • Germany / Deutschland
  • Netherlands / Holland

The selected country name must be acceptable to both WFDF and the represented country.

Recommended placement:

  • Upper back of the shirt

The overall design and colour scheme should reflect the represented nation.

Examples may include:

  • National colours
  • Cultural symbols
  • Recognisable national imagery

Sponsor logos are permitted provided they do not dominate or visually override national identifiers.

  1. ADDITIONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

Recommended placement on the front:

  • Player name
  • PDGA number

Teams are encouraged to prepare:

  • Two different shirt colours (dark and light)
  • Two copies of each shirt

If multiple colours are available, all players representing the same country in a match should wear the same colour.

Teams may also prepare a third official set intended for Non-Playing Team Support to improve recognition and media presentation.

  1. USE OF EXISTING TEAM UNIFORMS

Teams planning to use existing national uniforms may do so provided all mandatory WTDGC 2026 requirements are fulfilled.

If existing uniforms do not include the required sleeve identification elements, these may be added separately without producing completely new shirts.

Additional print methods such as:

  • DTF (Direct to Film)
  • Equivalent high-quality textile printing methods

are considered acceptable solutions for compliance.
