The 2026 edition marks the sixth WTDGC, following the inaugural championship in Canada (2016), and subsequent editions in Great Britain (2017), Estonia (2019), Croatia (2022), and Australia (2024). Each edition has contributed to the steady growth and global development of team disc golf, and Vilnius now joins this distinguished list of host cities.
Team arrivals and unofficial practice opportunities will begin on Saturday 5 September. Official practice days will take place on Sunday 6 and Monday 7 September, alongside team registration and final preparations. The Opening Ceremony is planned for the evening of Tuesday 8 September, while the first competition matches will already be scheduled earlier that same day.
Competition will run from Tuesday 8 to Saturday 12 September 2026, culminating in the Medal and Closing Ceremony on the late afternoon of Saturday 12 September. Should weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances cause delays, the schedule may be adjusted to ensure that all rounds are completed by the evening of 12 September.
In connection with WTDGC 2026, Vilnius will also host the Global Disc Golf Summit, scheduled for Saturday 5 September 2026. The Summit will bring together WFDF, PDGA, PDGA Europe, and National Federation representatives to discuss the future governance and international development of disc golf. The Summit aims to strengthen global coordination, define long-term strategic priorities, and further align international structures as the sport continues its rapid worldwide growth.
WFDF looks forward to welcoming teams to Vilnius for a championship that combines competitive excellence, international friendship, and the Spirit of the Game at the highest level.

Global Disc Golf Forum
The Global Disc Golf Forum will take place in Vilnius at the official WTDGC hotel (Radisson Blu Hotel) on Saturday, 5 September 2026.
The GDGF will be a full-day event focused on discussion, collaboration, and networking between representatives of PDGA, WFDF, national federations, and participants. Participation is free of charge, and all WTDGC teams are welcome to send representatives.
The current concept is for the forum to run through most of the day, including a break for a small reception, networking session, and informal social time with food and drinks at the end of the programme.
Participants attending the forum are encouraged not to plan other obligations for that day, as the intention is to create a meaningful working and networking environment rather than a short standalone meeting.
Disc Golf Associations and National Federations not participating in WTDGC are also warmly invited to attend.
Additional information about the GDGF, including the programme and registration details, will be published in the coming days (shortly after 25 May).
