Rules & Regulations
The WTDGC 2026 will be conducted under a combination of internationally recognised Disc Golf rules together with event-specific regulations developed for team competition.
All participants — including players, captains, coaches, caddies and team representatives — are expected to familiarise themselves with the applicable rules and competition procedures before arriving in Vilnius.
The championship will primarily follow:
- Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) Official Rules of Disc Golf
- PDGA Competition Manual
- WFDF event policies and operational procedures
- WTDGC-specific competition regulations and technical guidance
As a team-based international championship, WTDGC also applies additional procedures and regulations that differ from standard individual Disc Golf tournaments.
These may include:
- Team nomination and roster procedures
- Team match play rules and scoring systems
- Match scheduling and progression procedures
- Team uniforms and player identification requirements
- Caddie and Non-Playing Team Member regulations
- Spirit of the Game procedures and evaluation
- Event discipline and conduct procedures
- Media, photography and communication guidelines
- Operational procedures for practice and competition days
All players participating in WTDGC are expected to:
- Hold active PDGA membership
- Meet eligibility requirements established by WFDF
- Hold valid PDGA Certified Rules Official status
- Act in accordance with Spirit of the Game principles
- Respect event staff, volunteers, officials and fellow competitors
Disc Golf is a self-officiated sport and therefore places a strong emphasis on player responsibility, integrity and fair competition. Players are expected to know the rules and resolve situations respectfully and efficiently while maintaining the competitive standards expected at a World Championship event.
The WFDF Disc Golf Committee and WFDF Events Team may issue additional competition guidance, technical notices, interpretations and operational updates throughout the event preparation period.
Further documents will be published in this section closer to the event.
