Social Programme

WTDGC 2026 is designed to be more than a World Championship — it aims to create opportunities for players, team staff and guests to connect, explore and experience Disc Golf as an international community.

Alongside competition, participants will have opportunities to take part in social activities and informal gatherings throughout the event week.

The Social Programme is intended to support:

  • Connections between teams from different countries
  • Exchange of experiences and ideas within the Disc Golf community
  • Relaxation and recovery outside competition
  • Discovering Vilnius and Lithuanian culture
  • Creating memorable experiences beyond the playing field

Planned programme elements currently include:

  • Opening Ceremony featuring the traditional Parade of Nations
  • Global Disc Golf Forum
  • Informal team gatherings and networking opportunities
  • Social activities at Tournament Central
  • Medal and Closing Ceremony
  • Opportunities for teams to connect and celebrate together throughout the week

The Opening Ceremony and Parade of Nations are among the traditional highlights of WTDGC, bringing all participating countries together in one shared celebration before competition begins and recognising the international spirit of the championship.

The Medal and Closing Ceremony will conclude the championship by recognising sporting achievements while also celebrating the friendships, teamwork and international connections created throughout the event.

Additional activities and optional side events may also be organised in cooperation with local partners and the Local Organising Committee.

Vilnius offers participants a unique opportunity to combine championship competition with one of Europe’s most attractive and walkable capital cities. Teams are encouraged to extend their stay where possible and take time to experience the city’s historic Old Town, green spaces, cafés and local culture.

One of the goals of WTDGC is to create an atmosphere where players and teams spend time together not only during competition but also outside the courses — strengthening friendships and international connections that continue long after the championship concludes.

The detailed social programme, locations, reservation requirements and participation details will be published closer to the event as activities are confirmed.
