History of WTDGC

The WTDGC is the premier Disc Golf event for WFDF and the 2022 edition of the event looks to build on the success of past championships held in Vancouver, Canada; Colchester, United Kingdom and  with the 2019 event hosted by Estonia.

WTDGC is a bi-annual event with the 2019 edition attracting 23 teams, 145 participants from 17 countries across 5 divisions.

2017 - 2nd WTDGC
WFDF and Disc Zoo, the Tournament Organising Committee (TOC), have hosted the WFDF 2017 World Team Disc Golf Championships in Colchester, Great Britain.
The tournament wasl run from Wednesday 23rd to Saturday 26th August, 2017 at Wivenhoe Park, University of Essex, Colchester, Great Britain on the full Championship course.

2019 - 3rd WTDGC
WFDF 2019 World Team Disc Golf Championships was held in Estonia at Mäetaguse Disc Golf Park in AlutaguseEstonia, with a participation of 17 countries over four days of competition. The nations represented were Australia, Austria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Latvia, Lithuania, New Zealand, Russia, Slovakia, Spain and the United States.

The WTDGC event has featured four divisions (Open, Women’s, Master’s and Junior) with teams consisting of a minimum of 6 players with a team having the option to bring up to 12 players. Teams have competed in multiple competition matchplay formats throughout the Event with each round including players seeded within their team. WFDF’s premier Disc Golf event included 142 registered players with 102 contesting each match.
